Frequently Asked Questions
A: Applications for all programs open each August and must be submitted through the PNC careers website. In some cases, we may also post to a school's job board. These postings will direct you to PNC's Career Site to submit your application.
Q: Is there a deadline to apply?
A: There is not a universal deadline for applications; however we encourage you to apply by September 16. After this time, opportunities may begin to become more limited. Depending on the outcomes of the interview process, opportunities may be re-posted throughout the winter, so check back often.
Q: Who can apply?
A: Any undergraduate student in pursuit of a 4-year degree, or a graduate with less than 3 years of work experience, are encouraged to apply. Please refer to the job descriptions for GPA requirements.
Q: Do you sponsor work visas?
A: PNC will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Q: I'm a freshman; how do I fit in?
A: It's never too early to begin exploring careers! We invite you to meet us on campus and check our website to stay up to date on special events and summits.
Q: I'm a graduate student; how do I fit in?
A: While our programs usually do not consider graduate students, we offer plenty of opportunities within multiple business areas to suit a variety of skills and experiences to build a truly rewarding career. Search Jobs.
Q: PNC is not scheduled to visit my campus. What should I do?
A: Our campus recruiters work to attend as many campuses as possible. If we do not visit your school, or you missed us on campus, we recommend you stay informed through our website. We also hold virtual events throughout the year.
A: The best way to prepare is to review the job description and be ready to provide real-life examples in line with the competencies of the role. Most importantly, though, remember to be yourself!
Q: Can I apply to multiple programs?
A: Yes; however, we recommend choosing the business that best compliments your skills and interests.
Q: I'm studying abroad; can I still interview?
A: Yes. Communicate with your PNC recruiter that you are abroad, and a digital interview will be scheduled for you if you are selected for an interview.
Q: Do you provide travel accommodations to final-round interviews?
A: Yes. Our PNC Travel team is committed to booking your travel arrangements to and from Super Day if it is held in person. Your PNC recruiter will work closely with you to provide those details.
A: After final-round interviews are conducted, your PNC recruiter will communicate whether you will receive a job offer. Due to high volume, this may take two to three weeks. We appreciate your patience.
Q: I got declined for a PNC job. Can I apply to another role?
A: We offer a variety of career opportunities to ensure we have the right people in the right roles doing their best work for our customers. We encourage you to explore all careers that PNC has to offer. Search Jobs.
Q: I was offered a position but have a competing offer as well. Is it ok to ask for an extension beyond what was communicated in my offer letter?
A: We understand circumstances may arise throughout the recruiting process and respect a competing offer. We recommend that you take time to think about which position and company most closely aligns with your personal values. If you need additional time, speak with your PNC recruiter to navigate next steps.
Q: Can I select a different start date?
A: Due to scheduled trainings and rotations, some programs do not offer multiple start dates. Additionally, your start into the program is with a cohort of peers to maximize networking, learning and development, so having the same start date for everyone is vital.
Q: Do you offer relocation assistance?
A: Many of our summer internship and development program offers include a one-time stipend to use as you see fit. Be sure to talk with your recruiter about compensation details for your specific internship or development program.
A: Your first few days as a PNC employee will involve an in-depth orientation. You will be paired with a Program manager, a day-to-day manager and a mentor.
Q: How do I stay connected once the program begins?
A: We have an open and inclusive environment where each employee feels empowered to contribute to our success. Whether it's attending market events or joining an employee business resource group (EBRG), we offer a variety of ways to network, communicate, and progress personally and professionally.
Q: What happens after my program ends?
A: Based on business need and successful completion of the program, development program graduates may have the opportunity to join their business area as full-time employees. Summer internship participants may be offered the opportunity to join a development program after graduation.
