Used improperly in the hiring process, it can undermine trust and impede our ability to learn about the capabilities you will bring to PNC. 

Our culture is built on integrity, and our hiring decisions are made on trust. Candidates may use AI as a support in certain circumstances, but it is never a substitute for authentic, honest representation. The following guidance outlines how candidates may thoughtfully use AI throughout the recruitment process.

Application Materials

You may use AI tools to help edit or refine your resume and cover letter, not create it. For example, some candidates might use AI to improve clarity, grammar or structure of resume or cover letter language. This can be especially helpful when translating complex work into concise language.

Interview Preparation

It's always a good idea to prepare for your interview. Using AI to practice interview questions, research PNC, or reflect on past experiences is an appropriate way to build confidence. Preparation helps you show up as your best self, and helps us have a more meaningful conversation with you.

Live Interviews (Virtual or In-Person)

Live interviews are designed to be genuine, human conversations. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, candidates should not use AI tools to generate answers or assist during interviews. We want to understand how you think, communicate and navigate decisions in real-time - especially in moments that require judgement, empathy and clarity.

Assessments or Case Studies

Unless explicitly noted, assessments and take-home exercises should be completed without AI assistance. These activities help us understand your individual problem-solving approach and how you apply your knowledge. If AI use is permitted for a specific assessment, we will make that clear in advance.
